Communication System Fundamentals

Communication System Fundamentals

Our Target

  • Communication
  • Channel or medium or media
  • Frequency
  • Wavelength
  • Modulation
  • Demodulation
  • Baseband and Broadband
  • Noise
  • Attenuation

Communication is the process of exchanging information

Electronic Communication

A communication which takes place in the form of electronic or electrical signals

Electronic Communication System

It consist of transmitter, receiver and communication channel or medium

Communication Channel / medium / media

It is a path by which electronic signal is sent from one place to another place

It may be

Cycle per second is called frequency

It is the distance covered  by one cycle

Modulation and Demodulation

Modulation is a process in which we transmit low-frequency signal over a high-frequency signal

Demodulation is the reverse process

Baseband Transmission and Broadband Transmission

Transmission of information without modulation is baseband

Transmission of information with modulation is broadband

Reasons for modulation

  • Data rate
  • Antenna size
  • Long distance communication

Noise is a term which applies to any phenomenon that is used to degrade the message or information.

It is proportional to the distance between transmitter and receiver

  1. Dear Salman bhai,

Masha Allah I really appreciate your efforts to exchange very informative materials and the way you deliver knowledge is very nice and easy to understand. Please keep it up good work. I would like to request may you please start videos on Fiber Optics technologies like SDH/SONET DWDP and Metroethernet etc. Thanks for your time.
